Charles Berling (born 30 April 1958) is a French actor, director and screenwriter. Son of a navy doctor, he is also the nephew of the literary critic Raymond Picard. His mother, Nadia, 'only daughter of (French) settlers in Morocco' was born in Meknes (Morocco); she died in 2004. Following a singing gig, Zoha (Darine Hamze) meets friend Rabih (Karl Sarafidis) at a bar where she’s eyed by Mathieu (Charles Berling). She’s wary yet attracted, lingering in his hotel room after. Beirut Hotel (Arabic: بيروت بالليل‎, romanized: Beirut bel layl, French: Beyrouth Hôtel) the third long feature film by Lebanese director Danielle Arbid, is a 2011 Lebanese film. The film premiered during the 2011 Locarno International Film Festival.[1]

Plot[edit]

Beirut Hotel Cairo

One evening, a married young singer Zoha meets the French lawyer Mathieu in a night club in Beirut. Mathieu will become suspected of spying, while Zoha is trying to flee from her husband. Despite these problems, the two will witness a love story for few days mixed with violence and fear.

synopsis

One evening in Beirut, Hind and Mathieu meet. She's a young Lebanese singer trying to free herself from her ex-husband's stranglehold. He's a French lawyer here on business who despite himself will be tracked down and suspected of spying. Over the course of ten days they will live a love story made of fear and desire, intrigue and violence.
